I aim to keep my events accessible, particularly for small groups, libraries, grassroots arts organisations, and volunteer run community projects. This approach is important to me, and I want these gatherings to remain open to anyone who feels the work speaks to them. Below is an overview of the events I offer and the associated costs, so organisers can see what is available and plan with confidence.
Readings Community Reading — £50
A reading from my work, with optional time for questions or discussion. This is a simple, accessible event designed for small groups, libraries, and community settings, offering space to explore the themes and ideas within the writing.
A 20 to 40 minute talk exploring themes within my writing, including masculinity, silence, emotional honesty, creativity, and the stories behind the work. This session offers space to look beneath the surface of these ideas and to understand how they shape the writing. It is suitable for groups interested in the emotional landscape of the work and the experiences that inform it.
Suitable for festivals, community events, and themed discussions. It works well in settings that want a reflective, grounded look at the themes within the writing and the experiences that shape them. This session offers a calm, thoughtful space for audiences to engage with the work and explore the ideas behind it.
Registered charities are welcome to book me for travel costs only. This keeps events open to organisations working within limited means and ensures that community focused projects can still invite me without financial pressure. It is a simple way to support meaningful work while keeping the commitment straightforward.
I travel by bus or train only. The cost is simply the actual fare from Wakefield to your venue, based on the most direct public transport route available. No additional fees are charged, and the total is always kept as low as possible to ensure events remain accessible for small groups and community settings.
If your group has very limited funds, please feel free to get in touch. I do not want cost to prevent meaningful events from taking place, and I am always open to finding a way for community focused projects to take part. These gatherings matter, and I want them to remain within reach for anyone who feels the work speaks to them.
