The Inventory of Silence began as an attempt to understand the quieter parts of my life, the moments I avoided, the memories I carried without speaking, and the emotional weight that settled in the spaces where words never landed. Over time, it became a way to look more closely at how silence shapes a person, how it protects, isolates, distorts, and sometimes even steadies you when nothing else does. Each piece in the collection comes from lived experience, from the aftermath of loss, the slow rebuilding of self, and the private negotiations we make with our own history. Writing it became a way to name what had gone unnamed for too long, and to finally give shape to the things I once kept in the dark.
